A Photo Editor believes photography is key to the new journalism - Rob Haggart agrees with Jefff Jarvis at Buzz Machine that journalism needs to move from the article to the topic. 

“There’s an undeniably massive role for photography in a shift like this because topics require moving the story forward and moving beyond attention grabbing to attention holding and that requires a certain type and depth of photography.”  

Rob Haggart also pointed me towards Newsless.org - A new media criticism site authored by Matt Thompson who is currently undertaking a year-long research fellowship with the Reynolds Journalism Institute at the University of Missouri.
